Another resignation from Market Weighton Town Council !!
Troubled times for the local council.....
Will the sudden resignation of Diana Lamb result in yet another local election ?
Market Weighton Town Council is having a hard time just lately. Following the recent resignation of Councillor Doreen Plews, for which there is a local election on Thursday 21st March, their latest blow is the sudden resignation of Councillor Diana Lamb on 12th March 2002.
Mrs. Lamb has been a very active member of the council and will be sorely missed.
The Market Weighton Town Crier has Mrs. Lamb's permission to release her letter of resignation, and this is reproduced below:-

Dear Councillor King
I wish to tender my resignation as a Town Councillor from Market Weighton Town
Council. I am now nearly 5 years into what has been a very exacting retirement
and wish to have more time to myself. My resignation from the Town Council is
not the only organisation I am leaving, indeed some already know of my intentions.
However there will be still be one or two left where I hope, I am still able
to have contact with the Town Council in all our endeavours to make Market Weighton
a better place to live.
Yours sincerely
Diana M Lamb
