Councillor Stephen King elected as town Mayor.

Unanimous vote gives thirteenth year in office.

At a Regular Meeting of Market Weighton Town Council held on Wednesday 10th April 2002 Councillor Stephen J King was unanimously elected as Town Mayor for the 2002/2003 Civic Year.  This will be Cllr King's 12th consecutive year as Town Mayor and 13 years in all.

Councillor Michael Seaward was unanimously elected as Deputy Town Mayor.

At the elections, held in the new Town Hall, neither candidate was opposed.
