Skatepark for Market Weighton

Market Weighton Town Council has agreed 'in principle' to allocate land at the town's War memorial Playing Field for a much-needed skatepark.

A well-attended public meeting, held on Thursday 12th September 2002, supported the initiative and an 'Action Group' of young people and parents has been formed to take the proposal a stage further.

The project will be funded by the Town Council, the Weighton Area Regeneration Partnership and fundraising efforts by the skateboarders themselves.
