Market Weighton Lights-Up for Christmas 2002

December 9th 2002 - A fine, cold night for the grand switch-on of the town's new Christmas Lights and the traditional late night shopping event.
A successful major project for the Weighton area Regeneration Partnership (WARP).

Local residents and visitors to the town turned out in large numbers to see the town's new festive lights being switched on by Otto Wegner.  This year's event which was funded by WARP was a great success, and included street entertainment, children's rides, music, fancy dress and of course the traditional appearance of Santa Claus, whose grotto was a major attraction for local children.
