RESIDENTS INVITED TO SHARE IDEAS FOR THE FUTURE OF MARKET WEIGHTON BECK
Students from Leeds Metropolitan University are inviting Market Weighton residents to take part in a Community Planning Forum on Giant Bradley Day, Sunday 25th May, to consider the potential for Market Weighton Beck. Residents will be invited to post their ideas and concerns on a large map of the beck in the offices of Weighton Area Regeneration Partnership in the Market Place.
The students, Mary Elliott, Niki Miller, and Jude Shepherdson, who are local to the area, are undertaking the project as part of their final year BA (Hons) Garden Art and Design degree course. They feel that the beck, as it runs from woodland on Goodmanham Road, through the town to the by-pass, offers wonderful potential for greater enjoyment by residents.
They are seeking residents' suggestions for a design of the beck area such as wildlife trails, environmental art projects, interpretation or information boards, bog and wild flower planting, and seating, and issues such as safety and vandalism. Everyone, children included, is invited to take part either on Giant Bradley Day or via their website at http://www.marketweightonbeck.tk/
Go along and give your support to this worthwhile project.
