Historic Buildings in Market Weighton to be Refurbished.

Funds have been secured to restore and refurbish historic buildings in Market Weighton; The Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme (HERS) is bringing around £240,000 to the town over a 3 year period.  The scheme which is jointly funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the Weighton Area Regeneration partnership (WARP), is supported by English Heritage, Yorkshire Forward, the Market Towns Initiative and the Civic Society.

This is welcome news, and the funds will hopefully mean a new lease of life for some of the derelict and dilapidated properties to be seen in the High Street, Market Place and other locations in the town thus making it more attractive to potential new businesses.
