Success all the way for Vixen87 - Local Radio in Market Weighton

Vixen87, the Market Weighton & Area Community Radio Station, became a reality with its launch on 4th May 2003, and was hailed as a great success during its 28 days on air, the maximum allowed by the current licence.  Many local people tuned into the station in preference to listening to other commercial broadcasts, and visitors to Giant Bradley Day on 25th May were well entertained by the outside broadcast from the centre of the town.

Local support has been far greater than expected and plans are already in place to apply for another 28 day licence for later in the year.  Creator of the station, Paul Stellings, is looking for financial support for the future and ways of raising funds are under investigation.  Anyone wishing to get involved with the project can contact Paul on 01430 871857
