Bus It visits Market Weighton

Bus It, the region’s travelling public transport information bus with onboard Bus Surgery will be visiting Market Weighton between 9am and 2pm on Friday 24 October 2003 at High Street, Market Weighton. Free. Disabled access. All welcome.

Bus It provides comprehensive bus and train information for all local services in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. It also includes a ‘Bus Surgery’ which gives bus users the opportunity to feedback issues and experiences which if necessary can be followed up and investigated. The visit to Market Weighton has been arranged in conjunction with WARP – Weighton Area Regeneration Partnership.

Bus It will be promoting the range of all local bus services including Service X46/47 which links the town with Beverley, Hull, Pocklington and York. Bus It will also highlight local services to outlying villages such as the recently improved Service 18 between Holme on Spalding Moor and York. Local Parish Councils around Market Weighton have been informed of Bus It’s visit and will be encouraged to visit to highlight local transport need. As well as services Bus It will be providing information about reduced travel for the elderly and disabled available on all local bus services (Provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council) and discount tickets from local bus operators available for everyone.

Bus It was recently awarded funding from The Countryside Agency for a second year of operation. Bus It is an East Riding Rural Transport Partnership initiative and is provided by The City of Hull Environment Forum (CHEF) in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council and East Yorkshire Motor Services.

Bus is a specially converted low floor bus complete with timetables, displays, meeting area, video and computer journey planners. Bus It has already visited over 80 locations in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire during the last 12 months attracting over 2500 inquiries. It provides a complete service for all local bus and train services in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
