Neil Thwaites memorial weathervane erected on Council House.
A fitting tribute to "The Corn Dolly Man"
The Neil Thwaites memorial weather vane made by John Moore, the blacksmith in Market Weighton, has at last been placed on the roof of the council house in Line Gate.

Neil moved to the East Riding of Yorkshire from the Lake District in 1957, to join Market Weighton Secondary School as head of the Art Department. He lived in the village of Londesborough, near Market Weighton, until his death in February 1999
His interest in Corn Dolly making began in the early 1950's when he learned the craft from an elderly local farmer, and he soon became known affectionately as the "Corn Dolly Man".
