Enterprise Village planned for Market Weighton
Exciting developments at Becklands Park Industrial Estate.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council have announced details of a £1.6m state-of-the-art business centre, currently being built next to the Becklands Park Industrial Estate, off York Road. The enterprise village is being built by the local authority in conjunction with Hull base property firm Wykeland, and will occupy 9000 sq ft, with 15 offices for rent. Completion of the development is set for June 2004. Funding has also been obtained from Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund. This is excellent news for the town, which should be set for a business boom which will stimulate the local economy.
Peter Hemmerman, Chairman of Market Weighton Area Business
Limited (formerly the local Chamber of Trade) comments; "The enterprise
village is excellent news for the town. It's perfect for business owners who
are perhaps based at home at the moment but are looking to expand."
"Becklands Park is already thriving and this new centre will complement
it further. From a business point of view, this type of resource is very
good, as there are many small firms that want to get a foothold and set up now,
with the right resources."
