Local Charity Shop raises £20,000
Market Weighton Community Charity Shop was opened in 2001 and has so far raised the magnificent total of £28,000 for distribution to projects and groups in the town.
The shop which is staffed by 21 volunteers, replaced a similar store run by a national charity, and has gone from strength to strength due to the generous donations received from the public. Manager, Christine Cawkwell, said: "We want to thank everyone who has supported us over the past three years. Market Weighton may only be a rural town, but the generosity has been gigantic."
