No Fireworks for 2005

Bureaucracy cancels bonfire and Fireworks display.

It is with regret that Market Weighton Businesses Ltd., will not be organising a bonfire and firework display this year, due to the ever increasing costs of insurance, the implications of public liability and Health and Safety.

They thank everyone for their support in previous years, and hope that making this early decision will allow people to make other arrangements.

Once again increasing bureaucracy has signalled the death knell of a wonderful tradition, however perhaps some blame can be put onto the ever increasing compensation culture of the society in which live.   Bring back the good old days when common sense prevailed and folk could enjoy themselves without let or hindrance !
