The new Vixen101 launched on Saturday 10th January 2009

The new Vixen101 launched on Saturday 10th January and is now broadcasting 24 hours a day continuously for 5 full years. As you will all appreciate and probably understand that the station is operated by a team of volunteers, therefore as well as operating the station the majority of us have other full time jobs to maintain. Don't forget - 101.8fm

Therefore in the early days, the majority of programming will be aimed at weekends and evenings, however we hope to full out more varied programming as soon as practically possible.

In the meantime please do all tune in and spread the word about YOUR community radio station. The reason we were offered a licence is because the members of the community asked for us to be given a licence. We are here for you all to be involved with and participate in whatever way. If you are involved with a community group or non profit making organisation and would like anything promoting please get in touch with us.

We are always on the look out for anyone that would also like to join us and get involved. We have many tasks that we need help with behind the scenes, and as part of our remit to Ofcom we have to be seen to be offering participation and encourage training. So if you are interested please do not hesitate to get in touch, whether it be from admin work, to fund raising, to engineering work, even presenting or simply by just being helpful to anyone else that needs a hand.

The station is funded by a combination of advertising and sponsorship opportunities as well as fund raising activities and grants and donations, therefore if you would like to promote your business please get in touch as we have an extremely attractive advertising ratecard.
