Following the recent resignation of one of Market Weighton's town councillors an election has been held to fill the vacancy.

After a poor turn out the results are as follows:

Nigel Chicken 466 votes

Dale Needham 169 votes

Mike Turner 79 votes

Total number of votes cast : 719
